Octane Thug 20" Decocking Bolt

One of the common problems with crossbows is finding a way to decock the bow at the end of a hunt. Using a rope cocker is an option for hunters with recurve crossbows. For compound shooters, a target is almost a necessary piece of equipment. Octane has introduced a product to solve this problem. The Octane Thug Decocking Bolt looks like a normal arrow but the tip is specifically designed to absorb the impact of a shot. You can shoot the Thug into the ground without worrying about damaging or losing your valuable arrows.
The tip of the Thug is built with extra durable construction and an inner piston to absorb the energy of the impact. The tip is large and won’t penetrate the ground. The shaft itself is extra thick aluminum. These design features allow a single Thug decocking bolt to be used over and over again.
The Octane Thug is made by BowTech but is compatible with any crossbow that fires a 20 inch arrow. The Thug has a new universal nock that simplifies alignment and minimizes the risk of dry fire.
CrossbowExpert.com has tested the Thug with no problems. Do not shoot the thug into concrete or stumps. The Thug can bounce off of hard objects and hit you. We recommend picking a spot in the grass or soft ground 10 to 15 yards away before firing. If you’re looking for an easy way to decock your crossbow without carrying a target, the Thug is perfect for you.
